TTRWT Winner and Things...

Good morning guys! I was MIA yesterday and through most of the weekend generally. My dad turned 70 and it was awesome. When I think about it i think about when I was much younger and I'd see an obituary or hear that someone was recently deceased then I'd ask how old they are and when I hear 70 I go oh well, they were old, they tried. But when your own parent gets to 70 you suddenly realize how young 70 is. Yes o! 70 is very young and daddy still has many years ahead of him. I'm sure he wasn't and isn't the perfect husband but he is the perfect father and he's going to talk me through child bearing and motherhood so Dear Lord I need him around for many more years to come. Amen.
..............
TTRWT I think should finally wind down and we should look for the next great idea! Now I'm going to have to ask for your understanding, I'm not making this decision arbitrarily but also based on the opinion and under advisement of other blog readers; initially I had said that the TTRWT post with the most comments would win the prize. When I said this the idea was not to make a contest out of it, it was basically for fun and to encourage as many people as possible to try their hands out at writing or to share their thoughts, experiences or stories if they'd been looking for an outlet. I added a token prize of 3k airtime just for the fun of it.

The posts were sent in and the post with the most comments was by Ruthylicious for Please Wake Me Up 2. However although we all loved Ruthy's story it had an advantage over others in that we obviously had people visit the blog to read and comment on that post. This gives it an unfair advantage over other posts and makes it unfair to the other writers to still pick the winner this way.

We have decided that in a couple of days a vote would be done and you get to vote for your favourite TTRWT post. I'll put up the links just in case you want to read through or in order to refresh your memory. Please this voting will be done by only readers with Blogger IDs or Names that are familiar to us on the blog eg Steele, Funmi, cccc, Eniola, Favourite etc or Anonymouses that still add their names afterwards eg F, Enjay etc, in order to avoid confusion.

Also although this isn't about the prize, blog reader HSF said she would add 7k and raise the prize to 10,000 naira and she redeemed this pledge last week. So the prize is now 10K. Big Shout Out to HSF! I (and the winner) really do thank you, most especially for redeeming your pledge. You're simply amazing! Hey, just in case you're feeling generous and you want to boost the prize money even further by any amount, big or small, do let me know ok. Mail me and I would give you my account details, let's put a huge grin on the winners face, ok?

Ruthylicious your post had the most comments so rightfully you ought to be the winner. I hope you understand why I need to do what I'm doing; it's only fair. I admit I should have thought through things more thoroughly. Ruthylicious I love you and the last thing I'd want to do is offend you so I sincerely hope you understand.

Have an awesome week guys!

  2. Very Fulfilling more years to ur awesome Papa for giving us U!!!

As for your new choice of choosing the winner, Do I have a problem with it? NO. Is it fair going back on your words? NO.

For me this was a competition & it was FUN, oh so much FUN. I did go an extra extra mile of sharing my BOTH stories on bbm, Facebook & twitter accounts because the RULES were CLEAR & ALL who brought in their stories had the SAME opportunity to do this cos they read the rules too.

And let's not forget that even all the Legit commenters here ALL commented on my 1st post which still had the 2nd highest comments.

But it's all fine T. U are our GCFR & U have spoken.

    Have a blessed week U'all. #Hugs&Kisses.

Besides u never said only regulars comments count so... In all fairness ruth won simple liv d grey areas out

  8. with all that has been said here, it only proves that if people are to vote as well, Ruth will still emerge the winner.

  9. Ruth won whether she brought people from God knows where to comment on her post. You made it a competition on the grounds that the post with the most comments would win and on that ground, ruthy won. Just give her the prize money already. Fina

  10. Happy birthday to your dad! May he spend many more years in good health, peace, joy and abundance IJN.

On the TTRWT issue, I will suggest that you split it into two - Ruth and the other winner, so that you don't go back on your words. This way, Ruth still gets her prize based on the highest number of comments.

    1. Ruthie, if the prize money is split into two, you still get more than the initial prize Thelma was willing to give.

  13. ok Im shocked at the turn of events, if most people declare Ruthy to be the winner in spite of her bringing in voters , then why not. Im waiting for steele, Memphis and co to add their 2 kobo because IMHO There were one or two better writers than Ruthy.

  14. Tee please give the prize to rutty, she won the competition.

  15. I completely forgot that the TTRWT was a competition. Enjoyed reading all the posts. But I understand where Thelma's coming from. Ruthy is quite good, but she has an unfair advantage over the other writers because of her popularity. Whether she brought people to this blog or not, she would still attract the highest number of comments on her TTRWT posts. So, there actually shouldn't be any hard feelings from anyone. Let Thelma decide how best we should vote the winner. It was fun throughout.

  16. Thanks to everyone for Sticking with Me on this.
I totally Appreciate. REALY REALY DO & I LOVE U'all right back.

Memphis am Lost in your comment though.
Did T not think about this "Unfair advantage" before deciding HOW to pick the winner initially"?

When We Voted for Enjay as Beauty of the Day was she not one of the MOST popular blog readers too? Were ALL the votes not counted? Both from Anons & NEW Visitors?

Whatever Happens eventually, NO Hard feelings... Just wondering if this NEW decision would have mattered if I was NOT the one who won...
(YES, am hurt now, because I did put in GOOD Effort for this. Others should have done so too)

  17. Ruthylicious as I already said I did not think about that, in all honesty. And when I did the beauty of the day contest and Jizzle (not Enjay won) I did NOT count all the comments. Only comments with familiar names and Blogger IDs were counted just as I wrote above.

  18. Happy Birthday to your dad. Wish him more beautiful and gracious years in God's presence, good health and joy.

As for the TTRWT, the rule for selecting the winner was not really set right from the beginning. I love that you are trying to manage the situation but I would prefer the initial rule stays. Let's learn our lesson and move ahead.

  20. Personally I sense d sentiment of not just trying to b fair to other writers, but also trying not to appear partial to ruthy at work here. So what if ruthy's popularity won her more comments? it's clear that a major portion of that popularity was fed by d -ve energies from all d anons that just wudnt ease up on her n her 'famzying' (if there's any such word) her 'T'. May not b a lawyer, but I knw of such a thing as judicial impartiality that has no respect for our individual mistakes, ignorance or oversight as regards rule making/application and their validity wen a deed is done(lapse r meant to b worked on 4 future cases). The rule is d rule IMO thelma, but d court and ball is in ur possession n Watever U decide won't make us luv U any less. B!

  22. Just completely and totally unfair to Ruthy I don't get it at all....I just don't get it, if it was someone else that got the comments in like that they would have won with no discussion. Like they say "a prophet has no honor in his own home"
Ruthy it seems thelma will do what she wants in this case just forgerrit.

  23. @ tolulope,I strongly disagree with u on this, thelma would have said this to any other person too, although I don't like the new idea but u are wrong about it
Isn't this same thelma that deleted people's mean post about ruthy in previous issues? She just want to be fair to all and honestly I think there's more to "our" blog than this

  27. Ruthy makes this blog interesting, i look forward to her comments, she deserves an award just for being ruthy. On the competition and the rules of the game, there were rules set and everyone worked with it, in d bank whr i work, what matters is result no matter how u get it, Ruth got d result we wanted, its only unfair to take the price away from her, unfair advantage or not, life is not fair. Anyway if una do pdp tinss here, i ll do my own Apc (Ruthy i ll give u my own price of 10k just for being Ruthy)..... Ruthy u are truly a special child ooo, see how we r all talking about you.

Turia Pitt Suffered 65% Burns But Loved Conquered All...

Amazing Story Shared by Dr. Ben Carson on Facebook, i thought it is inspiring and i decided to share;

The Australian ex-model Turia Pitt suffered burns to 65 per cent of her body, lost her fingers and thumb on her right hand and spent five months in hospital after she was trapped by a grassfire in a 100 kilometre ultra-marathon in the Kimberley. Her boyfriend decided to quit his job to care for her recovery.
Days ago, in an interview for CNN they asked him:
"Did you at any moment think about leaving her and hiring someone to take care of her and moving on with your life?"

His reply touched the world:

"I married her soul, her character, and she's the only woman that will continue to fulfill my dreams."

This made me very reflective. I just wonder; if the person you love today encounters an incident or accident that transforms who they are physically, it could be amputation, it could be paralysis, it could be severe burns that scald their flesh beyond recognition, w…

Good morning people!
Just checking in to sign the register. Lol. It's been a very busy week and it looks like it might be an even busier weekend. I was hoping to get some writing done when I got to the airport yesterday but I even almost missed my flight. It was hopeless trying to do any work on the plane as it was bumpy af, and this toddler behind me wouldn't stop screaming in piercing shrieks like he was being exorcised.
I got into town pretty late and needed to keep an appointment ASAP. I'm heading out right now and it's going to be a long day, but thought I should drop this first.
Have a splendid day. Im'ma be back soon.

THE ‘NEW’ SIDE CHICK: I WAS HER

A side chick is commonly known as a mistress or a woman that’s romantically involved with a man who is in a committed relationship.  However after doing some reflecting, I realize that’s not the only type of side chick.  I want to discuss “the new side chick”–a woman who decides to stay by a man’s side after he has expressed his lack of relationship intentions with her through his words or actions.  So many women have made this mistake at least once in their lifetime, and unfortunately I’ve done the same thing. I like to think of the new side chick as an appetizer.  You’re there just to satisfy the immediate appetite of the man, but as soon as that mouth-watering entrée comes out to the table, you will get pushed to the side, literally.  Why?  Because that entrée is what he really wanted; he went to the restaurant to order steak, not hot wings.  You were just a placeholder, fling, temporary commitment, or  maybe even just a “good ol time” until what he really wanted was presented to hi…

Shhhhhhh....

I'm in an amebo mood tonight. Don't ask me, I honestly don't know why. Also I'd like to share too but I'd do that anonymously in the comment section. Tonight I want to talk about secrets. It's ok, we can all be anonymous.
Is it true that EVERYBODY has a secret?
Is there anyone here who doesn't have a secret? I'd really like to know; You're a completely open book and there's not ONE thing about you that you wouldn't mind other people knowing about? Please raise your hands up.
And for the rest of us, what's something about you that no one knows, or very few people know? Who's got a dark secret here, or a weird one, or a funny one even? I really don't mean to be invasive but I don't want to be the only one sharing, plus I think hearing other people's secrets is quite fun, don't you think?

Let's Be Random Together! (Open Keypad).

Hey guys, a while back blog reader F said something about creating an Open Keypad post, where you can write whatever you want in the comment section. I thought it was a fun idea!
So who is interested? Comment on anything you feel like, ask me or anyone a question, talk about how your day went, your job, your interests, tell us something about you that we don't know, share a testimony with us, rant about anything you feel like, talk about your crush/boo/spouse/relationship/marriage, challenges you're facing, ANYTHING AT ALL!
I'll only make one request; that we stay civil.

(F it was you who made this suggestion, right? I'm not too sure and I can't even remember the post the comment was made on).
BTW please Ejoeccome out come out, wherever you are!

Question of The Day.

TTB readers doesn't this tweet below remind you of something?
That mail that someone sent me a few weeks back.
But why on earth should a man sleep with his son's fiancé? But what am I saying, some men even sleep with their daughters...

Oh well, I'm throwing the question to you. What has happened in your life that you never saw coming, you never hesperred it, you never imagined could happen, you never imagined could happen to you?
It could be good, it could be bad, it could be ugly. Do tell!
And it can be more than one. Let me tell you a few.
-owning a blog -week long dry fast at Prayer City (I never hesperred it).  -staying in an (emotionally) abusive relationship.
The others require anonymity. LOL. Now over to you.
