Still On The TTRWT Winner.

I apologise if I'm not able to post. All weekend ETISALAT network has been horrible and still is, it took me over 3 hours to finally put this post up. I'm trying to get my wifi connections sorted but I'm not sure when that would be. I read all your comments and the same thoughts passed through my mind before I arrived at my decision so bear in mind it wasn't one I made lightly.

Readers had expressed concern to me before yesterday. (Phransie) not everyone is on social network, I for one rarely ever tweet, Facebook and I'm presently not on BBM. So it's not fair to assume that everyone is. Also I understand how you may think that going on social network increased my blog traffic but I feel the need to point out that it increased the page view for that post alone and none else (yes, I checked), no other post had an increase in page views beyond the usual besides that story, so it's also not accurate to say that that singular act increased my traffic/readers. And no Tolulope Alabi I'm not taking Ruth for granted, I'm sorry you feel that way.

But this is besides the point really. Everyone wants to feel that they are given equal opportunities, so we are still going to vote. Based on the comments on the previous post then it's pretty obvious that most of you think Ruthylicious deserves to win, if you do then when we vote please vote for Ruthylicious' Please Wake Me Up 2.

If Ruthylicious gets the highest votes then she takes the full prize. However if she does not then the prize will be split equally between the person with the highest votes and Ruthylicious.

We will vote on Wednesday. Once again, if you're so inclined then please just like HSF you can send in something and let's boost the prize money. Remember that we may have to split between two winners now, and also remember that nothing is too little or too much, so please if you can it would be greatly appreciated, just mail me for my account details. (

  1. Best decision to take. Personally I didn't think Ruthylicious story was good, the fact that she brought external help does not mean that she deserves to win over the better written stories.

    1. Very good was not d aim. Encouraging was d aim. Why didn't U write sometime that passed for fair at least never mind very good... * eyes rolling*. some people n sneering at wat dey are no better at! B.

    2. its her opinion. we are all entitled to one. I didn't think Ruthy was the best writer too. May the best man win!!

  2. I agree with you Thelma lets vote I think it is fair that way

    1. Me too, if Ruth is the rightful winner then she will still emerge the winner. Nobody is thinking about the other writers, one thing I love about Thelma is that she has a big heart. In other times when people have insulted Ruthylicious on this blog Thelma has openly defended her and pursued them away from her blog. so it should be obvious that she's just trying to be fair. On wednesday we can still vote for Ruthylicious and she can win fair and square.

  3. Thank U So Much Dear Anon. I guess U just spoke T's mind & that of those "other blog readers whose opinion she took under advisement"
    Lesson Well learnt...

I guess Mariam was right afterall...

    *Moving On*

    1. Ruthylicious Thelma has tried to make things right, don't be selfish. What else do you want

    2. Funmi, what has selfishness got to do with how ruthy feels? Based on thelma's rules, ruth won and it's only natural for her(anyone) to feel bad. Saying she shouldn't be selfish and asking her what else she wants is totally out of point. Ruthy o,wetin u give me chop abeg? #teamruthy Fina

  4. Ruthy don't take it so serious naaaaaa, just let Thelma do her thing and we vote! Let the best writer win.

  5. Don't make me a scape goat o...u were the one that set the rules and then going bk on it...but if u say u r not taking are for granted so be it. Anyways Ruthy I'll be voting for u on Wednesday #giveruthyherprize lol

  6. In all fairness, d best writer should win! But that should av been stated from d start! Thelma's error, acknowledged and corrected, albeit after d damage is done. On ruthy's disposition, I cant and don't blame her and insinuating that she's all out 4 d prize money which is d msg given by d word 'selfish',is not only unfair but insulting (at lst to me). Having read d comments from d last post n d few here, I can imagine hw seeds have been sown in her mind that her writing was inadequate, though d commenters may not mean it that way. D fact that it's social media doesn't mean emotions r not involved. A little sensitive would go a long way in our typing as ur two cents worth of opinion may b another person's loss of confidence for a long while. It's easy to see right and wrong when we've got nothing at stake in the outcome and for ruthy I think it's her pride not d prize that's d issue here. That aside, am kinda curios to knw 2 things thelma.
    1. Did d fact that d prize money got bumped up to 10k play any role in ds rule bending? (wud U av ignored it if HSF hadn't redeemed n it had remained a meagre 3k). I mean why shud 1 person get all of 10k by her own share genius of getting her pple to come in n comment right ?
    2. Is it possible that HSF was one of d blog readers that gave U d advice on a fairer system? D whole piper dictating d tune biz?
U mustn't answer by d way? But I just had to let out d thots in my head

    1. No Oma, HSF actually made that pledge that same day I started TTRWT so no it wasn't because of the money bump. To answer your other question, no it wasn't HSF, a few friends, readers and a couple of the writers did mention it. I was going to stick to my original words but I then I gave it a second thought and decided to do it this way. It would be beautiful if Ruth does win the most votes and that way the question of bringing 'help' for the comments wouldn't come up at all. Yes I made my mistake, I'm doing what I can to correct it. I know how this could affect Ruth's pride and that's the last thing I want, but there were several other writers too who unfortunately didn't take the initiative that Ruth did, but don't you think they still deserve a chance regardless?

    2. Dear Oma, I agree that Ruth won but if Thelma wants to make it fair enough, she might go ahead with the suggestion to split it. But to say a meagre N3000..........

    3. Certainly didn't mean it the way U make it sound Enjay. The word meagre was used in context wt my first question, to butress hw d diff btw d 3k n 10k may b viewed. Still I apologize to thelma if she read it that way too( I do hope not), didn't mean to cheapen d initial prize money. On fairness, I'll just say I think it's relative n depends really on d 'point of view'. E-Hugs thelma... this too shall pass! Lol.

  7. In ALL fairness, Ruthy deserves to win by your rules...the ones you made initially. Let's look beyond now to the future, what do you want to stand for as a person? Is your word your bond? Your words were taken in GOOD FAITH even though it is still your blog to push the dictates...when you come up with another competition will people trust you to honour those initial tone you set? Give her the prize based on the comments not who was better. The essence of this exercise was to get people to write too, think outside of the box and get folks to comment. Ruth did that and won. Please don't let readers become biased. Do the fair based on planned not actual. My opinion.

  8. TT blog readers really carry this matter for head o.

    1. Since thelma has decided to stick to her rule, I pledge a 2k worth of recharge card to ruth ONLY if you are a glo subscriber and its only by credit transfer. So I if you use a glo network indicate. Thelma looks like the glo ladies so I believe she's on the network lol! So I may transfer it to her then she gets it to you afterwards. Blog readers don't ask me y not send d pin, its an awoof card, so as they say, there is joy in sharing. Hence I have decided to share.

    2. No I don't use Glo but if you want you can mail me and I'll give you Ruthy's email address so you can get it across to her directly.

  9. Thelma your decision to share it reminds me of Solomon and d two women and d baby in d bible so I think it's a wise one.

    1. That illustration about Solomon is out of context. Its about integrity. Keeping your word regardless of the situation at hand. Better writers, better stories, but it was said at the very beginning that the post with most comments wins......

  10. *sigh*, Thelma, you should have stuck with your words initially. Honestly, the guys who suddenly came up with this "advice" should have done so, as soon as you stated the initial rules, so you could have changed it from the onset. Abi didn't they see the undue advantage then? how come it is now the competition (or whatever this thing was all about)is over? It is absolutely wrong, unfair and dare say I, unethical, to change the rules of a competition at the END of the competition. If this advice was so important, you would have saved it for the next competition. And like someone mentioned earlier, what matters most is the results, not necessarily how you achieved them. So what? if other people r not on BBM? whose fault? if they do not have a twitter account? or post regularly on Facebook? I mean, if you call a team, and you dish out the same targets to everyone, who's to say they can't all look for creative ways to meet their targets? If you don't do what it takes to win, only to come at the end of the competition and complain of "undue advantage", not only are you ignorant and lazy, you are wicked and selfish as well.

  11. This is a serious matter o, for once i see Ruthy not happy. I wasn't even aware of the 'rules' or competition before i sent in my piece, i just wanted to sha write something, oh well. Going by the rules you set Thelma, Ruthy won fair and square. Although i see where you are going with this.

  12. Na wa oh, all these over a competition??

Thelma pls do not regret even starting this competition.
All Ill say is "lessons learned" , make rock-hard rules when next this kind of situation comes up.

@Oma, don't get it twisted, I wasn't even aware, neither dO I care about the 'rules' of competition, the only thing that struck me was the meagre 3k (pun intended) offered as price and just to make the competition more attractive I up'd it to 10k.

Im shocked at the outbursts over this issue and I hope it won't take away the good from the competition, we have awesome writers here and I loved those stories die and most of all Thelma you have a great heart indeed.

  13. Ahn Ahn! *surprise face*
I actually understand Thelma's point here. Seems fair enough; everyone is being thought about.
About sticking to rules, even with law, there's also amendment of constitution na.
I guess she'd be more thorough with every line she writes next time.

Turia Pitt Suffered 65% Burns But Loved Conquered All...

Amazing Story Shared by Dr. Ben Carson on Facebook, i thought it is inspiring and i decided to share;

The Australian ex-model Turia Pitt suffered burns to 65 per cent of her body, lost her fingers and thumb on her right hand and spent five months in hospital after she was trapped by a grassfire in a 100 kilometre ultra-marathon in the Kimberley. Her boyfriend decided to quit his job to care for her recovery.
Days ago, in an interview for CNN they asked him:
"Did you at any moment think about leaving her and hiring someone to take care of her and moving on with your life?"

His reply touched the world:

"I married her soul, her character, and she's the only woman that will continue to fulfill my dreams."

This made me very reflective. I just wonder; if the person you love today encounters an incident or accident that transforms who they are physically, it could be amputation, it could be paralysis, it could be severe burns that scald their flesh beyond recognition, w…

Good morning people!
Just checking in to sign the register. Lol. It's been a very busy week and it looks like it might be an even busier weekend. I was hoping to get some writing done when I got to the airport yesterday but I even almost missed my flight. It was hopeless trying to do any work on the plane as it was bumpy af, and this toddler behind me wouldn't stop screaming in piercing shrieks like he was being exorcised.
I got into town pretty late and needed to keep an appointment ASAP. I'm heading out right now and it's going to be a long day, but thought I should drop this first.
Have a splendid day. Im'ma be back soon.

One More Post...

He was my coursemate, crush, then my boyfriend.... he was super
intelligent, smart, tall, dark and handsome. Believe me he got
swag, but he didn't seem to notice me. (I'm a nerd but a sassy one
if I say so myself).  So oneday I decided to take it to another level..
After listening to a song "IF YOU LOVE SOMEBODY TELL THEM THAT YOU
LOVE THEM and watching the season film of The Secret Life of
American Teenagers. ..when Amy Jeugerns mum told her "you are only
young once". LOL that part got me.
Hope you know what i mean?

Though I'm okay with chemistry class I approached him to coach me for
the Quiz that was coming up, we found out that we had this
great chemistry between us.. hehehe both the covalent and
electrovalent bonds....

So one thing led to another till one unusual Saturday. I invited
him to my house and he came. The guy got swag, he even came
with a packet of durex condom.
We talked for a while and and and and and and
See how you are serious dey read this story....!

A side chick is commonly known as a mistress or a woman that’s romantically involved with a man who is in a committed relationship.  However after doing some reflecting, I realize that’s not the only type of side chick.  I want to discuss “the new side chick”–a woman who decides to stay by a man’s side after he has expressed his lack of relationship intentions with her through his words or actions.  So many women have made this mistake at least once in their lifetime, and unfortunately I’ve done the same thing. I like to think of the new side chick as an appetizer.  You’re there just to satisfy the immediate appetite of the man, but as soon as that mouth-watering entrée comes out to the table, you will get pushed to the side, literally.  Why?  Because that entrée is what he really wanted; he went to the restaurant to order steak, not hot wings.  You were just a placeholder, fling, temporary commitment, or  maybe even just a “good ol time” until what he really wanted was presented to hi…

I'm in an amebo mood tonight. Don't ask me, I honestly don't know why. Also I'd like to share too but I'd do that anonymously in the comment section. Tonight I want to talk about secrets. It's ok, we can all be anonymous.
Is it true that EVERYBODY has a secret?
Is there anyone here who doesn't have a secret? I'd really like to know; You're a completely open book and there's not ONE thing about you that you wouldn't mind other people knowing about? Please raise your hands up.
And for the rest of us, what's something about you that no one knows, or very few people know? Who's got a dark secret here, or a weird one, or a funny one even? I really don't mean to be invasive but I don't want to be the only one sharing, plus I think hearing other people's secrets is quite fun, don't you think?

Let's Be Random Together! (Open Keypad).

Hey guys, a while back blog reader F said something about creating an Open Keypad post, where you can write whatever you want in the comment section. I thought it was a fun idea!
So who is interested? Comment on anything you feel like, ask me or anyone a question, talk about how your day went, your job, your interests, tell us something about you that we don't know, share a testimony with us, rant about anything you feel like, talk about your crush/boo/spouse/relationship/marriage, challenges you're facing, ANYTHING AT ALL!
I'll only make one request; that we stay civil.

(F it was you who made this suggestion, right? I'm not too sure and I can't even remember the post the comment was made on).
BTW please Ejoeccome out come out, wherever you are!

Question of The Day.

TTB readers doesn't this tweet below remind you of something?
That mail that someone sent me a few weeks back.
But why on earth should a man sleep with his son's fiancé? But what am I saying, some men even sleep with their daughters...

Oh well, I'm throwing the question to you. What has happened in your life that you never saw coming, you never hesperred it, you never imagined could happen, you never imagined could happen to you?
It could be good, it could be bad, it could be ugly. Do tell!
And it can be more than one. Let me tell you a few.
-owning a blog -week long dry fast at Prayer City (I never hesperred it).  -staying in an (emotionally) abusive relationship.
The others require anonymity. LOL. Now over to you.
