The 4-year-old boy got into trouble at school for hitting little girls and his dad decided to punish him by humiliating him.
Last week, for one hour, Rob Devine stood with his 4-year-old son, Tristan, on the side of the road in their hometown, and had him hold a sign that read, “I hit little girls.” “I want him to know you can’t go out and do these things and expect them to go away unnoticed,” he told ABC local affiliate WXYZ.
The father is getting some backlash for this action, the boy's mother who is separated from the dad is also enraged by this kind of punishment but some people don't seem to think there's anything wrong with this kind of discipline, especially those who don't believe in using the rod.
Is this appropriate?
I think the bigger question should be where he learnt to beat up little girls. When 4yr olds act in that manner it's usually as a result of something they witness at home.
