In this social media age it's so easy to sit in one's room and feel somewhat drowned by discontent. For me, sometimes I get on Facebook or Instagram and I leave feeling like life is just not fair! Others are LIVING life and I'm here doing what? I see pictures of old classmates and friends in all the exotic locations of the world. For some; Paris today, Tokyo next week, Italy next month and Greece the month after. I see some perpetually clad in the latest fashion, clutching the most expensive designer bags and wearing the maddest shoes. Some are living the champagne life because life is just so good, work pays in a month what their parents only dreamed of making in a year or two. Then those with not only the attractive spouse, but the cute as a button kids and of course the luxurious lifestyle; boat cruises on foreign waters, private jets and anything else they freaking want!
It's so easy to forget how immensely blessed one is when we're looking at and comparing ourselves to others. We also forget that some of these pictures are deliberately taken to show the picture perfect side of life and some of their lives are nothing like what they put out on social network. Nobody is going to share or post pictures of when they're on the grind, when they're sad or depressed or in tears, when their bosses are treating them like shite, when their significant others are being abusive or unfaithful, when life is beating them down or when things just aren't so Insta-perfect.
Some took some very unscrupulous methods to get to where they are meanwhile you stay envying, wishing, hoping, praying and 'tapping' into their blessings.
We must realize that to actually have a device that enables one view these things is a blessing in itself. We also fail to realize that there are some people who would give anything to be where we are or have what we have. And while we are there wishing and hoping we become oblivious to the greatness and gifts deposited in us. The bottom line basically is you're alive, you're healthy, you have love in your life, you have food to eat, you have or had an education, and you're reading this so
Good morning guys!
