T pls u can make it a post on my behalf so I cud get more suggestions! Thanks somuch.

At an "attention" as in standstill, stagnant, experiencing inertia? (Just trying to paint a clearer picture).

Please guys, if you're sending something that you want me to post on the blog you're doing so so that others can read it and give you feedback, right? The point is; other people are going to read what you write so please make an effort to write in proper text. I tried to edit this but it was taking too much of my time and I honestly don't have the time, energy or desire to edit someone else's write up unless I'm getting paid to do so (regardless of if it's for my blog or someone else's). So please if you're going to write buh you might as well write but, just make an effort to write all the words in proper form. Thanks a lot for your cooperation.

  1. Thank U T for urging posters to type correctly... I have tried to read & understand this.
Poster U have 2 options IMHO.

1: Expand Ur Job description on ur own by adding more necessary & unnecessary duties on U. Look for ways to assist everyone around U in the office since U need more mental work...

    2. Get another very tasking job in another company if option 1 isn't okay by U.

    1. Hey guys am New here nd I av come to stay lol

    2. Thank you Ruth! It was just on the comment section, I hope you do understand that i wrote It just the way I would have when chatting with my friends. Thank you Thelma for helping me post it and thank you all for helping out, am really grateful.

  2. Speak to Management, HR or your Direct Boss. Sir or Ma i would like to take on a new challenge, I feel like theres so much more i can do if you will entrust me to it.

  3. @Thelma, The writer would have appreciated it if you replied her email with your comment above instead of dropping it here. I'm sure she would have edited the write up herself.

@ Poster, I understand how you feel, we must strive everyday to be better than the previous day. The labour market is crazy out there so I won't advise you to quit just like that. You can make yourself better by reading, there is more to the internet than Bellanaija and Thelmathinks (with all due respect). While searching for a more challenging job, you can challenge yourself by READING WIDE. Volunteer to assist in projects at work that way a manager may notice and push you up the ladder or give you more taxing duties. J

    1. If you had read T's post yesterday, you'd have seen this comment and understood that the poster sent it in as a comment so how was Thelma supposed to contact her then?

    2. J so many people who write me write this way (although this was a comment which she asked me to post). I should reply each of them personally? You see where I wrote I don't have time/energy/desire? I really don't. It's a lot easier to put it out there so that everyone who intends to write in the future knows this. It wasn't meant as a personal affront to the poster. Some mails are written like this or worse, some I edit, some I post as sent and some are so bad I don't post at all.

    3. Thanks T,
@ Poster, this is the very place you might get an opportunity to be recommended, therefore, writing in such short forms makes me personally think otherwise. Such writing speaks a lot of volume about an individual and how assertive you can be.

    4. Thank you so much Thelma Gh! It was just on the comment section, I hope you do understand that wrote It just the way I would have when chatting with my friends. Thank you Thelma for helping me post it and thank you all for helping out, am really grateful.

  4. It's difficult to understand what you're saying when you're spelling in... is there an official name for this kind of baby/kindergarten spelling?

Anyway, to your question, if you feel like you're at a standstill, then try and liaise with some of the other higher placed people in the organisation, and get them to start including you in little tasks. They'll train you enough to know the basics, and then you can use your initiative to go above and beyond what is expected of you, and you never know what that would lead to. It could be an issue with your direct manager if ur getting involved in other areas, so discuss it with her first. Tell her you would like to challenge yourself, and get cross-skilled in a few other areas within the organisation. Any good manager should permit you opportunities to be the best you can.

  5. Lol... I hadn't even seen Thelma's comment on the spelling... thought it was just me

  6. Yeah in same situation with u dear, spoke to my direct boss and she suggested I join sales or marketing but my dear I humbly rejected cos no strength doesn't lye there. Hoping to get a more tasking job elsewhere but age ain't on my side jare. Wish I read a more professional course cos I can do way way better

  8. Its necessary to always get a Professional Certification, hell you don't really need the 'certification'. Go online, get a passion for something and be dedicated, trust me it won't make sense at first, but keep looking at it. I read Biochemistry but I'm into Filmmaking and it keeps me more Useful with myself. My lady friend decided to learn Graphix through Photoshop and Corel draw, any computer can do that. Or if u don't mind being a part of the Filmmaking process, u can learn Film Editing(Adobe Premier Pro) simply tru your computer and trust me Women tend to excel more in it and there's Money in it. If u would like to be challenged on any Computer related skill. I can be of help... I Bring the best out of anyone around me especially if they want to. Reach out to Thelma if you're interested.

    1. Hi Uyi, although I am not the poster I would like to learn some computer skills considering I am currently job hunting I have time on my hands. I would like to be a pro at Excel. Do you have knowledge in this? How can I contact u?

    2. Ask Thelma for my Email...

  9. Dear Poster, i'll be totally honest, I felt really discombobulated while reading your write-up, had to get a colleague to re-read it to me in order for me to fully comprehend. I was going to suggest that you consider writing/blogging on topics of interest but on second thoughts......nah.

why not have some sort of side hustle? are you passionate about anything else? perhaps even buying+re-selling? I wouldn't advise you to quit your job because like you said, its pretty good ''pay'' and that's pretty hard to come by these days. Keep your job please and use that extra time to build on a business/side hustle, whatever tickles your fancy... that's the sort of advice I would give anyone who has a job that gives them some extra free time during the day.

  10. @Uyi, my thoughts exactly, poster use this opportunity to do some online courses and certifications you are passionate about/need, that way, you're building and investing in yourself and still taking home a good pay.A lot of people I know will die to be in your shoes ie.finding time in between work to invest in themselves, turn this lemon into lemonade ok.All the best

  11. It was such a struggle trying to make out the poster's story. Even after T's comment, Poster still continued with the retard speak. Maybe poster should devote some time to writing properly first.. ah well.. I'm done

  12. You guys should take it easy and cut the poster some slack,am sure if Thelma didn't point that fact out majority of you wouldn't have noticed, now everybody is here acting like they have never made any grammatical or typographical error.I'm sure if she knew it was gonna be taken from her comment she would have taken her time and read through after typing it.
Poster don't leave your present job.think very well and surf the web like you have been advised;surely you will get something to enhance your skills.good luck!

    1. Thank you so much blog it up! It was jus on the comment section, I wrote it as if I was chatting with my friends, nothing more. Thank you Thelma for helping me post it and thank you all for your advice too, m really grateful.

  13. Really! The whole house just had to comment about the writing before the poster could get it?! Some of you write worse when chatting with friends so enough already! Forming in-house editor without pay! T already made the needed correction, the rest of you should have just kept ur scholarly fingers to the central issue. @ poster, people like uyi already gave good advice, do what works for you dear.

    1. oh pls anon shut up+get lost. its a free world!

    2. And I guess d word anon and the + symbol qualifies for proper English writing? Blaady fool!

  14. This English is very risky.

For the poster you can attend free online courses on or try out a hobby etc

  15. Hian! Dint u hear dat she was just chatting with d family?

  16. Ok sup with all the buzz about the write-up cos I read it without ado. Anyways poster I advice you stick to your job and hope for something better by reading wide and never stop submitting CV.

  17. @ Uyi, I sure wiill take you up on the film making thing, I want to go into film making and photography. I'm very interested in making short films on social issues. It's been a passion, that I haven't done anything about.

I'm very preggers (pregnant) now, but if you stay on the mainland, who knows.
In the mean time you could give me pointers on what to start with now.

    1. Awww, Pregnancy and Filmmaking though....anything is possible! You can pretty much start with the basis for now! By understanding the Art, so that your techniques would flow seamlessly. You can send me your mail through thelma and we can easily talk more on how to start. Its gonna be fun as well. I'm in the mainland as well.

  18. Thelma you are kinda rude sha #justsaying #okbye

Turia Pitt Suffered 65% Burns But Loved Conquered All...

Amazing Story Shared by Dr. Ben Carson on Facebook, i thought it is inspiring and i decided to share;

The Australian ex-model Turia Pitt suffered burns to 65 per cent of her body, lost her fingers and thumb on her right hand and spent five months in hospital after she was trapped by a grassfire in a 100 kilometre ultra-marathon in the Kimberley. Her boyfriend decided to quit his job to care for her recovery.
Days ago, in an interview for CNN they asked him:
"Did you at any moment think about leaving her and hiring someone to take care of her and moving on with your life?"

His reply touched the world:

"I married her soul, her character, and she's the only woman that will continue to fulfill my dreams."

This made me very reflective. I just wonder; if the person you love today encounters an incident or accident that transforms who they are physically, it could be amputation, it could be paralysis, it could be severe burns that scald their flesh beyond recognition, w…

Good morning people!
Just checking in to sign the register. Lol. It's been a very busy week and it looks like it might be an even busier weekend. I was hoping to get some writing done when I got to the airport yesterday but I even almost missed my flight. It was hopeless trying to do any work on the plane as it was bumpy af, and this toddler behind me wouldn't stop screaming in piercing shrieks like he was being exorcised.
I got into town pretty late and needed to keep an appointment ASAP. I'm heading out right now and it's going to be a long day, but thought I should drop this first.
Have a splendid day. Im'ma be back soon.

One More Post...

He was my coursemate, crush, then my boyfriend.... he was super
intelligent, smart, tall, dark and handsome. Believe me he got
swag, but he didn't seem to notice me. (I'm a nerd but a sassy one
if I say so myself).  So oneday I decided to take it to another level..
After listening to a song "IF YOU LOVE SOMEBODY TELL THEM THAT YOU
LOVE THEM and watching the season film of The Secret Life of
American Teenagers. ..when Amy Jeugerns mum told her "you are only
young once". LOL that part got me.
Hope you know what i mean?

Though I'm okay with chemistry class I approached him to coach me for
the Quiz that was coming up, we found out that we had this
great chemistry between us.. hehehe both the covalent and
electrovalent bonds....

So one thing led to another till one unusual Saturday. I invited
him to my house and he came. The guy got swag, he even came
with a packet of durex condom.
We talked for a while and and and and and and
See how you are serious dey read this story....!

A side chick is commonly known as a mistress or a woman that’s romantically involved with a man who is in a committed relationship.  However after doing some reflecting, I realize that’s not the only type of side chick.  I want to discuss “the new side chick”–a woman who decides to stay by a man’s side after he has expressed his lack of relationship intentions with her through his words or actions.  So many women have made this mistake at least once in their lifetime, and unfortunately I’ve done the same thing. I like to think of the new side chick as an appetizer.  You’re there just to satisfy the immediate appetite of the man, but as soon as that mouth-watering entrée comes out to the table, you will get pushed to the side, literally.  Why?  Because that entrée is what he really wanted; he went to the restaurant to order steak, not hot wings.  You were just a placeholder, fling, temporary commitment, or  maybe even just a “good ol time” until what he really wanted was presented to hi…

I'm in an amebo mood tonight. Don't ask me, I honestly don't know why. Also I'd like to share too but I'd do that anonymously in the comment section. Tonight I want to talk about secrets. It's ok, we can all be anonymous.
Is it true that EVERYBODY has a secret?
Is there anyone here who doesn't have a secret? I'd really like to know; You're a completely open book and there's not ONE thing about you that you wouldn't mind other people knowing about? Please raise your hands up.
And for the rest of us, what's something about you that no one knows, or very few people know? Who's got a dark secret here, or a weird one, or a funny one even? I really don't mean to be invasive but I don't want to be the only one sharing, plus I think hearing other people's secrets is quite fun, don't you think?

Let's Be Random Together! (Open Keypad).

Hey guys, a while back blog reader F said something about creating an Open Keypad post, where you can write whatever you want in the comment section. I thought it was a fun idea!
So who is interested? Comment on anything you feel like, ask me or anyone a question, talk about how your day went, your job, your interests, tell us something about you that we don't know, share a testimony with us, rant about anything you feel like, talk about your crush/boo/spouse/relationship/marriage, challenges you're facing, ANYTHING AT ALL!
I'll only make one request; that we stay civil.

(F it was you who made this suggestion, right? I'm not too sure and I can't even remember the post the comment was made on).
BTW please Ejoeccome out come out, wherever you are!

Closed Chapter...

Hello everyone, yesterday a friend said to me, Thelma I love your blog, I've told so many people about your blog, I think you're a very good writer but I feel there's something you're not doing right"

This friend was the first person who won our beauty of the day contest back then in 2014. Then we had met just once through a mutual friend. I mentioned the blog to her and she became an instant reader. I wouldn't have exactly called her a friend then but yesterday as we sat down waiting for our Uber to come get us from Wal-Mart, she's definitely my friend and I knew she was coming from a good place when she said she had much higher expectations of my blog.

Me too.

But you see, in the last year or so, maybe even longer than that, I haven't felt much joy in blogging. It began to feel more and more of a laborious chore, one which I hardly reaped any fruits from.

I really love writing, I love sharing my life and my experiences with others and I've enjoy…
