In Defense Of Dating The Younger Man (7 Reasons Why You Should).

Some weeks ago I told someone that I dated a younger guy and she was appalled. Extremely appalled, like I'd just told her I eat life puppies for breakfast. I couldn't understand why... Sometimes a younger man is just what the doctor ordered.
Based on my experience and (general observation) these are 7 really awesome things about dating an adult younger man.

1. Little or No baggage. Unlike an older guy who has had much more experience, including those that have jaded him and have tainted his views of life and women, the younger man is greener, lighter and therefore a lot more fun and stress-free.

2. Over compensation. I think this is the very best part. Because younger guys know that you're older, they tend to believe that you're worldlier, that you've experienced life and seen much more of the world than they have. For this reason they feel inadequate around you and in order to make up for this (perceived) inadequacy they try and try and try to compensate. And guess what, it's all in your favor. Yippee!

3. They more or less worship the ground you walk on. I think this also partly results from number 2 above. Their inadequacy makes them see you as much more than them, they see you as a queen, especially if you carry yourself as one. They treat you with utmost respect and reverence... especially if you treat them with even a modicum of the same. Yes, they're younger but they have their male ego and they still want (and deserve) to be respected regardless of the age difference.

4. The Sex! Yes, they may lack certain finesse of the older male but they're more energetic and remember number 2 above; over compensation... they're very veeeery eager to please. In addition to being eager to please, they're also eager to learn (from you), because they see you as much more experienced, therefore you must be a skilled teacher. All this in turn makes sex a very exciting and memorable experience each and every time.

5. They listen. They make for great conversationalists because unlike the older man, they tend to believe that you know what you're talking about and every word you say to them is the truth.

6. They have fewer demands and expectations. This is particularly fantastic in this part of the world where men believe themselves to be kings who should be waited on hand and foot. The younger man will neither demand nor expect you to do his chores, clean after him or cook his food. Of course if you offer he'll be a willing recipient and guess what, because he lacks that sense of entitlement that the older man has, he will be oh so grateful and he will eagerly express this gratitude in the most interesting of ways.

7. They tend to have more zeal for life. Less baggage equals more zest! They're spontaneous, have fewer cares and treat life like one exciting adventure. And if for nothing else, this will make you feel younger, lighter, happier and rejuvenated. And isn't that what we all want?

In all, the younger man feels he has so much to prove to you and will do the extra work to make him worthy of you. Guess what, you will have the time of your life merely by allowing this to happen.

So.... Notice I said reasons why you should "Date"... This is NOT a post about commitment, long term relationships and marriage.

Hehe! Yup. Great defense. In defense of NOT dating a younger guy coming soon.

Photosource :

  1. Cougar!!!!! Cougar!!!!!! Cougar!!!!me I cant oh....ewww something...that naughty house wife

  2. Should age be an important factor for dating/relationship/marriage or maturity?

Dated a guy I was older than but with just a was normal cause most times I didn't even remember I was older than him.

  3. Thelma i totally agree with you, my hubby and I are mates, he is jus a month older, and like they say, when a man and woman are mates, the woman is older. I can boldly say he is the best guy i ve ever known, he is everything u stated above and more!!

  4. I have always said I can never do it but you're now making me have a rethink.

  5. I married a younger man, i am older by 14 months. Best decision i ever made. So i am a Puma and loving it.

  6. Miss Pynk, U'all are making me rethink oh.
If only I can have the guy in the picture T posted with a Very high IQ which has always been my problem with younger guys!
I run once I perceive a low IQ.
I've never had a relationship with a guy who's less than 7-8yrs older than me!

    1. Same here Ruthie, youngest of 7 years lol

    2. You may be referring to maturity?... cos I don't think IQ comes with age

  7. Once the guy involved is mature in every sense of d word, then age would be nothing but a number. Who wouldn't wanna date a guy with the above advantages?

    *jes saying*

@Queen spicey, stop whispering and date dt younger guy dt has been making passes @ u already! Hehehe

  8. Uuuuhhhhhh cougar alert!!! Haaha.

  9. Dated 2 guys am older than with a month & 3 months.d 1st guy just couldn't take my jokes & felt I was always riding him & d second once made me think i was his mum with a comment but was all good with the age & even wanted a serious relationship but too bad,he wasn't what I wanted.but all in all,I can date a mature younger guy

  10. I really don't think I can. I'm just 21 so what do I know. lol

  11. It is only a nigerian thing to see dating a Younger guy Alien(culture tins)...
In as much as most of the ladies I've dated are younger, I honestly don't get age conscious until I realize I really can't deal, esp. with a girl whose Intelligence is lower dan her beauty, turns me off.
I love it when the intellgence of a Lady impresses me! I will love you even if you don't reciprocate. I don't care! Just be intelligent and Vastly Experienced/knowledgeable... and I guess dat comes (most times) with age.

  12. The way I see it, anyone older than me is a man, and anyone younger than me is a boy that I should be protecting #endofstory :-)

  13. One of the best decisions I ever made! If he floats your boat (physically and intellectually), sharpen your Cougar/Puma/Jaguar claws n go for it biko! After all I've seen so called "older" who were dumber than a rock during dry season n younger guys who were the next best thing to sliced bread. Besides, Chemistry is you touching my mind n it setting my body on fire n there's no age cap to that!

  14. I 'dated' a younger guy once, i was older with about 4years. n I can tell u that it's one the best 'relationship' I have ever had
Candlelit dinners, roses scattered on the bed, dates nights, movie nights where we had popcorn , ice cream n irish cream n the sex *sigh* plus he took me to work everyday for 2 months it's was the best thing... Till he travelled out of the country .... Tears.

    1. Hmmmm. You people are really tempting me.

  15. argggggggggggggggggggggggggg T why didn't you post this 2weeks ago? I just lied to my younger guy that I had relocated to jand lol . He's almost perfect...we never fight... he's me butterflies but the age thing....the 2yr just keeps bothering with this your post I feel like I need to call him and tell him I'm really in Lagos arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.............

    1. omg I just looked at the picture you used for this post....he almost looks like him lmaoo...choi

    2. FNLP stop dulling yourself. My husband took me on dates 30 days out of the 31 dates in august 2013 when we started dated. How could i let that pass me by? Abeg i didnt care if he was 5 years younger than me at that point lol, it was absolutely and still is my best relationship ever. I have to fight to put petrol in my car. Recently i had to convince him that i didnt need a driver. I forget i am 14 months older than my husband and he never talks about it.

So my dear, just call the guy and laugh about it that you didn't go to london and you were worried about the age difference.

    3. Lmao hmmmmm my pride wont let me, maybe when next he calls......

  16. I am about to MARRY a younger man. To me he is a MAN! Unlike the post i am not sexually experienced but he has had 1 relationship and sex was invloved so he sees himself as my would-be teacher! he is veeeery protective of me and won't allow any guy hang around.....lolzzz..he is not an overly jelous man o...just doesnt want me distracted like he would say.#wink....he is a great man with a good heart loving hardworking devoted and handsome. I thank God ALL the other older guys' relationships never worked! I was totally against this younger guy thing before but as i type...I have found out that in life...'never say never'. God has His own plans and for the age gap...i am almost 3 yrs older than him. I am glad i sought concel on the matter and i gave him a chance. Though I no tell my sisters o and my frends but they ALL love him....mayb later when we have had kids we will tell them or they will find out themselves!...lolzzz

Turia Pitt Suffered 65% Burns But Loved Conquered All...

Amazing Story Shared by Dr. Ben Carson on Facebook, i thought it is inspiring and i decided to share;

The Australian ex-model Turia Pitt suffered burns to 65 per cent of her body, lost her fingers and thumb on her right hand and spent five months in hospital after she was trapped by a grassfire in a 100 kilometre ultra-marathon in the Kimberley. Her boyfriend decided to quit his job to care for her recovery.
Days ago, in an interview for CNN they asked him:
"Did you at any moment think about leaving her and hiring someone to take care of her and moving on with your life?"

His reply touched the world:

"I married her soul, her character, and she's the only woman that will continue to fulfill my dreams."

This made me very reflective. I just wonder; if the person you love today encounters an incident or accident that transforms who they are physically, it could be amputation, it could be paralysis, it could be severe burns that scald their flesh beyond recognition, w…

Good morning people!
Just checking in to sign the register. Lol. It's been a very busy week and it looks like it might be an even busier weekend. I was hoping to get some writing done when I got to the airport yesterday but I even almost missed my flight. It was hopeless trying to do any work on the plane as it was bumpy af, and this toddler behind me wouldn't stop screaming in piercing shrieks like he was being exorcised.
I got into town pretty late and needed to keep an appointment ASAP. I'm heading out right now and it's going to be a long day, but thought I should drop this first.
Have a splendid day. Im'ma be back soon.

One More Post...

He was my coursemate, crush, then my boyfriend.... he was super
intelligent, smart, tall, dark and handsome. Believe me he got
swag, but he didn't seem to notice me. (I'm a nerd but a sassy one
if I say so myself).  So oneday I decided to take it to another level..
After listening to a song "IF YOU LOVE SOMEBODY TELL THEM THAT YOU
LOVE THEM and watching the season film of The Secret Life of
American Teenagers. ..when Amy Jeugerns mum told her "you are only
young once". LOL that part got me.
Hope you know what i mean?

Though I'm okay with chemistry class I approached him to coach me for
the Quiz that was coming up, we found out that we had this
great chemistry between us.. hehehe both the covalent and
electrovalent bonds....

So one thing led to another till one unusual Saturday. I invited
him to my house and he came. The guy got swag, he even came
with a packet of durex condom.
We talked for a while and and and and and and
See how you are serious dey read this story....!

A side chick is commonly known as a mistress or a woman that’s romantically involved with a man who is in a committed relationship.  However after doing some reflecting, I realize that’s not the only type of side chick.  I want to discuss “the new side chick”–a woman who decides to stay by a man’s side after he has expressed his lack of relationship intentions with her through his words or actions.  So many women have made this mistake at least once in their lifetime, and unfortunately I’ve done the same thing. I like to think of the new side chick as an appetizer.  You’re there just to satisfy the immediate appetite of the man, but as soon as that mouth-watering entrée comes out to the table, you will get pushed to the side, literally.  Why?  Because that entrée is what he really wanted; he went to the restaurant to order steak, not hot wings.  You were just a placeholder, fling, temporary commitment, or  maybe even just a “good ol time” until what he really wanted was presented to hi…

I'm in an amebo mood tonight. Don't ask me, I honestly don't know why. Also I'd like to share too but I'd do that anonymously in the comment section. Tonight I want to talk about secrets. It's ok, we can all be anonymous.
Is it true that EVERYBODY has a secret?
Is there anyone here who doesn't have a secret? I'd really like to know; You're a completely open book and there's not ONE thing about you that you wouldn't mind other people knowing about? Please raise your hands up.
And for the rest of us, what's something about you that no one knows, or very few people know? Who's got a dark secret here, or a weird one, or a funny one even? I really don't mean to be invasive but I don't want to be the only one sharing, plus I think hearing other people's secrets is quite fun, don't you think?

Let's Be Random Together! (Open Keypad).

Hey guys, a while back blog reader F said something about creating an Open Keypad post, where you can write whatever you want in the comment section. I thought it was a fun idea!
So who is interested? Comment on anything you feel like, ask me or anyone a question, talk about how your day went, your job, your interests, tell us something about you that we don't know, share a testimony with us, rant about anything you feel like, talk about your crush/boo/spouse/relationship/marriage, challenges you're facing, ANYTHING AT ALL!
I'll only make one request; that we stay civil.

(F it was you who made this suggestion, right? I'm not too sure and I can't even remember the post the comment was made on).
BTW please Ejoeccome out come out, wherever you are!

Closed Chapter...

Hello everyone, yesterday a friend said to me, Thelma I love your blog, I've told so many people about your blog, I think you're a very good writer but I feel there's something you're not doing right"

This friend was the first person who won our beauty of the day contest back then in 2014. Then we had met just once through a mutual friend. I mentioned the blog to her and she became an instant reader. I wouldn't have exactly called her a friend then but yesterday as we sat down waiting for our Uber to come get us from Wal-Mart, she's definitely my friend and I knew she was coming from a good place when she said she had much higher expectations of my blog.

Me too.

But you see, in the last year or so, maybe even longer than that, I haven't felt much joy in blogging. It began to feel more and more of a laborious chore, one which I hardly reaped any fruits from.

I really love writing, I love sharing my life and my experiences with others and I've enjoy…
