According to TMZ American football player, Michael Sam clearly wanted to make a statement when he proposed to his longtime BF -- 'cause the football player popped the question right in Vatican City.... We're told Sam and Vito were inside St. Peter's Basilica at the time.
While I'm not anti-gay I can't help but question his motives. Is this an act of defiance? Is he asking the church for acceptance? Was it just mere coincidence that two gay men happened to visit the Vatican and one opted to pop the question while there? Would they have done this in an Islamic city? Is there any particular reason they chose to do this here when the Catholic Church is anti-gay?
In any case, congratulations to them, I wish them happiness.
