America's Rapist. (Too Far?)

I'm sure by now you're familiar with the Bill Cosby rape brouhaha. New York Daily News made this their front cover, following the New York Times feature that interviewed 35 women allegedly raped by the Ace comedian, with this these women as its cover photo. See below:

Rape is no small matter but I can't help but ask where these women were all these years, why were they silent and why are they all now coming out to speak up? Well I guess it was a chain reaction... Whispered mentions of it, then that brash stand up comedian who made bold crass jokes about 'Bill Cosby the rapists', at first people were enraged, then people began to realize there's no smoke without fire. The one of the victims finding an opening, spoke up, then others followed suit.

Rapists deserve to be severely punished.

But guys, do you think this is taking it too far? Personally I feel like it is, I feel like he's already been shamed enough, I feel like there's an agenda to destroy him completely, tarnish and totally wipe out every memory of him. And I worry that a man his age might not be able to take all of this, like he might just cave in and croak! But it seems that's what they want, is that what he deserves? What do you think?

  1. I wonder if all these women were actually victims because at this rate anybody can come out and claim he raped her and nobody will question them. But if indeed he raped all these women then he deserves it.

  2. From here it's very easy to say they went too far, but if I was a victim that headline will not even cut what I feel he truly deserves.

Even if he raped just one woman, he deserves it. Those days women don't usually speak up on rape how much more when the person involved is a big shot like bill. Thank God for social media, giving people courage to speak up and connecting people who shared similar experience. J

    1. Word J.

Till he apologizes for his crimes to each woman he raped, i don't think it is taking things to far.

  3. Jesus Thelma, please do not say that. Do you have a first experience of what it feels like to be assaulted. It is never too much to do to a man that has caused so much pain. Fuck him!! This just brings back so many memories, I applaud these women for the courage to speak out. The day I can, I will cause untold pain to the bastard and conniving friend that inflicted upon me this never ending pain.

    1. I'm so sorry Nena, honestly I also wondered if my tune won't be different if I've been a victim of sexual assault. I think I'm rather soft about this because of his age, I wish they'd spoken up twenty years earlier. I mean, maybe then the statute of limitation won't apply, maybe then he could be sentenced and thrown into jail.

    2. E-hugs, dear. May God give you closure and heal you in every way.

Thelma, when I read this post, I had a selah moment. And I returned to see this post.... what went through my mind was if you were in their shoes, would you react the same way? If he did it, then this is the consequence.. every action comes with one, either good or bad.

    3. *And I returned to see this comment

  4. It's hard to believe that America's (and mine too) favorite Tv dad was a rapist. Like how do u connect Cliff Huxtable with this?

Unfortunately for him,his crimes caught up with him...

  5. Important points to remember.
Cliff Huxtable is a character in a TV show. Bill Cosby is a person. They are not the same.
There have been rumors about Bill Cosby for years (I personally started hearing in 2006), and there have been several legal depositions and out of court settlements.
For accusations of rape, I think a lot of people still don't understand the stigma of being a victim. Most people don't believe you, called liar and all kinds of slurs. Imagine a (young, poor) black woman in America going up against someone as powerful as bill Cosby! There's power in numbers, which is why some may be just speaking up. As I said before, others have been doing so for years.
I love the Huxtables and the Cosby show. However, let Bill Cosby burn!

  6. I was really surprised you said that Thelma... and i was going to type 'Really?!!!!" until i saw J and Nena's comments.

He assaulted more than 40 women and thought he could get away with it.... i'm so happy nemesis caught up with him. he deserves every bit of what he is getting and more.

i'm so sorry for what you went through Nena. *hugs*

  7. Bill Cosby fall hand sha. Rape is totally unacceptable. He is rich, couldnt he find a prostitute to help his matter if it was doing him like that. Is the sex still the same after you drugged the lady? How does his Church mind feel after he is done with the act? He did it 35 times? Hian! This shows no remorse.

  8. While I get your fears that this may be a case of 'give a dog a bad name and hang him', the part of me that is a survivor recognises the fact that it's hard enough to bring the 'average Joe rapist' to book to talk more of a notable figure as Cosby was. A look at how much doubt cast at the veracity of their claim even with such a large number of women would give u an idea of how depressingly impossible it would feel for a single victim to come forward to accuse him. A sexual predator of d magnitude this case is would even taunt n dare u to go report, u won't be d first n it'll b ur word against his. Afterall who do u think would be believed: U, a nobody from Hicksville, Nowhere or the most iconic n morally upright black personality of d 70s, 80s n 90s? The impossibility of those odds r enof to take the fight out of anyone. Following d lapse of d statutes of limitations, I think this is perhaps the most karmic punishment that can happen
I loved Cilff Huxtable n the Cosby Show. They were a wonderful part of my childhood n young adulthood but the men n dads those characters potrayed would definitely kill if their daughters were any of d victims of the acts Bill Cosby is accused of today.

  9. He committed these crimes back then because he had the power.

There are soooooooo many young women out there being raped on a daily basis. The society judges these women negatively. They even blame the women telling them it's their fault.

Most people don't speak up because of the shame. You go out to visit a guy, and you get. Raped, the next question is did he force you to go to his house? It's so painful.
These women can't just wake up one day to talk gibberish. These are victims, survivors who felt keeping silent was the best option.

This is a classic case of "karma is a bitch"

  10. 40 women cannot go against one man, one or two of them maybe lieing but not 40, what could they possibly have to gain from it? Fame some say... They are old women, are they looking for fame that they are rape survivors? Its alarming that someone can be so wicked and perverse.
These rape drugs kill some people, I know a lady that died from it. God will help us because I don't think Bill Cosby will be remembered for good after his lifetime.

  11. Bill Cosby is a serial rapist who deserves to be severely punished. He is a despicable sexual predator who deserves no mercy. Taking advantage of young vulnerable women and pretending he was America's Dad. It's such a shame that the Statute of Limitations has made it impossible to prosecute him because he is shameless horrible criminal who belongs in jail. I wonder how he would feel if someone did what he has done to so many women to one of his daughters. This administration needs to find a way to revoke the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He obviously has no conscience but I hope he hurts and pays for his crimes for the rest of his pathetic life. Rapist!!!

Turia Pitt Suffered 65% Burns But Loved Conquered All...

Amazing Story Shared by Dr. Ben Carson on Facebook, i thought it is inspiring and i decided to share;

The Australian ex-model Turia Pitt suffered burns to 65 per cent of her body, lost her fingers and thumb on her right hand and spent five months in hospital after she was trapped by a grassfire in a 100 kilometre ultra-marathon in the Kimberley. Her boyfriend decided to quit his job to care for her recovery.
Days ago, in an interview for CNN they asked him:
"Did you at any moment think about leaving her and hiring someone to take care of her and moving on with your life?"

His reply touched the world:

"I married her soul, her character, and she's the only woman that will continue to fulfill my dreams."

This made me very reflective. I just wonder; if the person you love today encounters an incident or accident that transforms who they are physically, it could be amputation, it could be paralysis, it could be severe burns that scald their flesh beyond recognition, w…

Good morning people!
Just checking in to sign the register. Lol. It's been a very busy week and it looks like it might be an even busier weekend. I was hoping to get some writing done when I got to the airport yesterday but I even almost missed my flight. It was hopeless trying to do any work on the plane as it was bumpy af, and this toddler behind me wouldn't stop screaming in piercing shrieks like he was being exorcised.
I got into town pretty late and needed to keep an appointment ASAP. I'm heading out right now and it's going to be a long day, but thought I should drop this first.
Have a splendid day. Im'ma be back soon.

One More Post...

He was my coursemate, crush, then my boyfriend.... he was super
intelligent, smart, tall, dark and handsome. Believe me he got
swag, but he didn't seem to notice me. (I'm a nerd but a sassy one
if I say so myself).  So oneday I decided to take it to another level..
After listening to a song "IF YOU LOVE SOMEBODY TELL THEM THAT YOU
LOVE THEM and watching the season film of The Secret Life of
American Teenagers. ..when Amy Jeugerns mum told her "you are only
young once". LOL that part got me.
Hope you know what i mean?

Though I'm okay with chemistry class I approached him to coach me for
the Quiz that was coming up, we found out that we had this
great chemistry between us.. hehehe both the covalent and
electrovalent bonds....

So one thing led to another till one unusual Saturday. I invited
him to my house and he came. The guy got swag, he even came
with a packet of durex condom.
We talked for a while and and and and and and
See how you are serious dey read this story....!

A side chick is commonly known as a mistress or a woman that’s romantically involved with a man who is in a committed relationship.  However after doing some reflecting, I realize that’s not the only type of side chick.  I want to discuss “the new side chick”–a woman who decides to stay by a man’s side after he has expressed his lack of relationship intentions with her through his words or actions.  So many women have made this mistake at least once in their lifetime, and unfortunately I’ve done the same thing. I like to think of the new side chick as an appetizer.  You’re there just to satisfy the immediate appetite of the man, but as soon as that mouth-watering entrée comes out to the table, you will get pushed to the side, literally.  Why?  Because that entrée is what he really wanted; he went to the restaurant to order steak, not hot wings.  You were just a placeholder, fling, temporary commitment, or  maybe even just a “good ol time” until what he really wanted was presented to hi…

I'm in an amebo mood tonight. Don't ask me, I honestly don't know why. Also I'd like to share too but I'd do that anonymously in the comment section. Tonight I want to talk about secrets. It's ok, we can all be anonymous.
Is it true that EVERYBODY has a secret?
Is there anyone here who doesn't have a secret? I'd really like to know; You're a completely open book and there's not ONE thing about you that you wouldn't mind other people knowing about? Please raise your hands up.
And for the rest of us, what's something about you that no one knows, or very few people know? Who's got a dark secret here, or a weird one, or a funny one even? I really don't mean to be invasive but I don't want to be the only one sharing, plus I think hearing other people's secrets is quite fun, don't you think?

Let's Be Random Together! (Open Keypad).

Hey guys, a while back blog reader F said something about creating an Open Keypad post, where you can write whatever you want in the comment section. I thought it was a fun idea!
So who is interested? Comment on anything you feel like, ask me or anyone a question, talk about how your day went, your job, your interests, tell us something about you that we don't know, share a testimony with us, rant about anything you feel like, talk about your crush/boo/spouse/relationship/marriage, challenges you're facing, ANYTHING AT ALL!
I'll only make one request; that we stay civil.

(F it was you who made this suggestion, right? I'm not too sure and I can't even remember the post the comment was made on).
BTW please Ejoeccome out come out, wherever you are!

Question of The Day.

TTB readers doesn't this tweet below remind you of something?
That mail that someone sent me a few weeks back.
But why on earth should a man sleep with his son's fiancé? But what am I saying, some men even sleep with their daughters...

Oh well, I'm throwing the question to you. What has happened in your life that you never saw coming, you never hesperred it, you never imagined could happen, you never imagined could happen to you?
It could be good, it could be bad, it could be ugly. Do tell!
And it can be more than one. Let me tell you a few.
-owning a blog -week long dry fast at Prayer City (I never hesperred it).  -staying in an (emotionally) abusive relationship.
The others require anonymity. LOL. Now over to you.
