What Are You Here For?

It's a few minutes past 6am and traffic on Ozumba Mbadiwe (Victoria Island) is already building. This I noticed just after reading the story above.
I would really love to know what you took away from it. Does it make you wonder the point of it all? Does it remind you of the futility and vanity in life? Do you want to kick your shoes off and relax a little, after all where does the rat race end? Or did you get to the end of the story and yimu? LOL. Tell me.

*...when Jesus is your filter and you don't need no make up. LOL*

  1. Thelma the story I'm interested in is where did you sleep last night?

  2. Thelma was obviously not wearing a bra... lol

  3. T baby, the no bra day was few days back.... this picture would have been perfect on that day.

  4. T baby, the no bra day was few days back. this picture would have been perfect on that day.

  5. Lmao! @Jesus is your only filter...

On the post, I've always had that mentality for a while now but when some outside forces that have a place in your heart are just putting unnecessary pressure on you, you get stuck being. Apparently u still need enough strength to shrug off such unwanted noises as u move forward in happiness.

@anon, isn't it apparent she's at Ozumba mbadiwe road? Or is there another place that looks like these pictures? Wait, and u think u have exceptional inspection skills? And are you her Dad? you better be, else you aren't entitled to an answer.

    1. Uyi did thelma appoint you as her guardian angel? Voltron defender of the universe

    2. Been meaning to ask him that too. Hian!

    3. Lmao! Yes oh! She did... You didn't get the memo?
The mailing machine must be having issues... Anyways, so u better watch it and Marshall your words carefully. You anon, and anyone who cares to listen/read.

@Chinenyenwa(never heard DAT name before, no pun intended) I'm assuming u are jealous huh? Anyways, goodnews I'm looking for an assistant to The Guardian Angel of Thelma. You can apply. Hehehe

    4. Congratulations on your new job dear Uyi. Don't bother abt assistance, m sure u ll do just fine k.

  6. Hi Thelma, I have about the same skin tone as you. Please what body cream do you use? Nice picture by the way...

    1. Hi Anonymous. I don't use any cream out of the ordinary. I think my phone just takes good selfies thus the seemingly flawless skin.

  7. Good question above. Second question I am interested in Thelma, is were you participating in #nobraday? Lol.

As for the post proper, for me it is a good reminder to never forget what truly matters in life - like family, friends and God.

    1. Looool. Everyday should be no bra day! #justkidding.

  8. A beautiful story! I am one of those who don't believe in so much struggle to acquire material things. I'm quite a content with the little i have and i pray to God not to let any form of pressure drive me into acquiring things i do not need.

  9. And that's the point people miss out in their "motivational speeches". There's so much pressure in being rich that we forget that riches is very relative. As long as u have all u need, everything else is just a luxury you don't have to kill urself over...

  10. Nice nice but it honestly makes me wonder if could actually take naps and play around when I aint got some comfortable credit balance. #dontthinkso

  11. Looks like u got big boobies. Breast feed me.

  12. The story reminded me of the story of one of my eldest brother's close friends. The guy wanted to build a school, thus he channeled all resources, every ounce of energy he had into making the dream a reality. It got so bad that he started sleeping in the school building while the construction was still ongoing as he could not afford to pay his house rent (his family stayed with relatives). The sad thing was he died few days to the opening of the school.

"He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity". Ecclesiastes 5:10
"Then I considered all that my hands had done and the toil I had expended in doing it, and behold, all was vanity and a striving after wind, and there was nothing to be gained under the sun". Ecclesiastes 2:11

"A man to whom God gives wealth, possessions, and honor, so that he lacks nothing of all that he desires, yet God does not give him power to enjoy them, but a stranger enjoys them. This is vanity; it is a grievous evil" Ecclesiastes 6:2. Money is a must-have but we should know when it is enough. Isn't it ironic that a lot of the things we acquire we do not really enjoy them?

  13. The truth is that the fast paced rat race life is mainly in lagos. In other places people relax and take it one day at a time. It's inly lagos that people wake up at 4am to start going to work because of traffic,

  14. Thelma, what hotel did you get that view from? Breathtaking!!

  15. but chill, isnt it the same people on this blog - well, majority - who were arguing that they'd rather marry a rich dude who they dont love than marry a poor man for love...or sth.
So what are y'all preaching now, y'all should pick a side and play a position mehn.

    1. This is about happiness and contentment with life.
You wld surprised how the pressures of riches makes men into beaters, womanizers and something else...

  16. "If you work for a living, why kill yourself working?" - Tuco Benedicto Pacifico Juan Maria Ramirez.

    1. He just kept repeating it... And it kept echoing in my ears and sinking into my brain(it had an impact in my life till today). And that was in the 1960s. So generations have lived and gone and still peeps just won't get it.

  17. Well, I am all about having a genuinely happy life, and believe that it's not just about money. Happiness is having a good balance all round. Yet I think there's a difference in the lives of the 2 sects...though the end looks same.

The rich men who retired can afford all that they need and some wants. He can afford to help others.
The others can only sustain themselves.

  18. Ben Carson that shared this sob story is a multi millionaire. Why doesn't he go and become a fisherman?

  19. Okay we know youre at the oriental hotel with some man. no need to make it obvious.

  20. Why is almost everyone taking note of Thelma's chest?una eye dey see orishirishi ohhh. Okay now.

  21. Too many people want to be rich because of the assumption that their lives will be better. Until one cultivates the habit of chasing peace of mind, no matter how much you acquire materially you will forever be seeking.

As for Lagos many people can actually telecommute from their homes....but no everyone must be in the office. I do better with my resources working from home than i ever did commuting to an office...I dont have to invest in suits neither do I sit in traffic for hours on end...matter of fact i can count how many hours a week I am even on the road...the rat race is just that- a race with no real destination.

    1. That is the truth, much more can be done from home but I guess employers think you're not working if they don't see you in the office. Even if you're just staring at the screen and being unproductive.

  22. To the Anon that keeps asking, the answer to your question is YES, but I would like to keep some things private.

    1. OK, thought as much. If you need a private eye to investigate. I full ground😉

    2. Na real private eye o! Me wey dey frequent there everyday... I noh even notice. Loool! Smh.

  23. When next you're at oriental in the morning or afternoon, please say hi! :)

  24. The sad thing about the rat race is: whether you win or lose, you will always emerge as that which you are - a rat!

  25. The Language of Desire Review

Or we are slaves to leisure and work is our penance. But, just the same, we can be slaves to service and our 'punishment' is blessing for the fact others are blessed. Or we might be bonded to telling the truth and so our 'penance' is peace.

  26. Good looks with or without make-up. Seems I prefer without make-up

  27. 5 alpha reductase
Thanks Thelma. As for the post proper, for me it is a good reminder to never forget what truly matters in life - like family, friends and God.

Turia Pitt Suffered 65% Burns But Loved Conquered All...

Amazing Story Shared by Dr. Ben Carson on Facebook, i thought it is inspiring and i decided to share;

The Australian ex-model Turia Pitt suffered burns to 65 per cent of her body, lost her fingers and thumb on her right hand and spent five months in hospital after she was trapped by a grassfire in a 100 kilometre ultra-marathon in the Kimberley. Her boyfriend decided to quit his job to care for her recovery.
Days ago, in an interview for CNN they asked him:
"Did you at any moment think about leaving her and hiring someone to take care of her and moving on with your life?"

His reply touched the world:

"I married her soul, her character, and she's the only woman that will continue to fulfill my dreams."

This made me very reflective. I just wonder; if the person you love today encounters an incident or accident that transforms who they are physically, it could be amputation, it could be paralysis, it could be severe burns that scald their flesh beyond recognition, w…

Good morning people!
Just checking in to sign the register. Lol. It's been a very busy week and it looks like it might be an even busier weekend. I was hoping to get some writing done when I got to the airport yesterday but I even almost missed my flight. It was hopeless trying to do any work on the plane as it was bumpy af, and this toddler behind me wouldn't stop screaming in piercing shrieks like he was being exorcised.
I got into town pretty late and needed to keep an appointment ASAP. I'm heading out right now and it's going to be a long day, but thought I should drop this first.
Have a splendid day. Im'ma be back soon.

One More Post...

He was my coursemate, crush, then my boyfriend.... he was super
intelligent, smart, tall, dark and handsome. Believe me he got
swag, but he didn't seem to notice me. (I'm a nerd but a sassy one
if I say so myself).  So oneday I decided to take it to another level..
After listening to a song "IF YOU LOVE SOMEBODY TELL THEM THAT YOU
LOVE THEM and watching the season film of The Secret Life of
American Teenagers. ..when Amy Jeugerns mum told her "you are only
young once". LOL that part got me.
Hope you know what i mean?

Though I'm okay with chemistry class I approached him to coach me for
the Quiz that was coming up, we found out that we had this
great chemistry between us.. hehehe both the covalent and
electrovalent bonds....

So one thing led to another till one unusual Saturday. I invited
him to my house and he came. The guy got swag, he even came
with a packet of durex condom.
We talked for a while and and and and and and
See how you are serious dey read this story....!

A side chick is commonly known as a mistress or a woman that’s romantically involved with a man who is in a committed relationship.  However after doing some reflecting, I realize that’s not the only type of side chick.  I want to discuss “the new side chick”–a woman who decides to stay by a man’s side after he has expressed his lack of relationship intentions with her through his words or actions.  So many women have made this mistake at least once in their lifetime, and unfortunately I’ve done the same thing. I like to think of the new side chick as an appetizer.  You’re there just to satisfy the immediate appetite of the man, but as soon as that mouth-watering entrée comes out to the table, you will get pushed to the side, literally.  Why?  Because that entrée is what he really wanted; he went to the restaurant to order steak, not hot wings.  You were just a placeholder, fling, temporary commitment, or  maybe even just a “good ol time” until what he really wanted was presented to hi…

I'm in an amebo mood tonight. Don't ask me, I honestly don't know why. Also I'd like to share too but I'd do that anonymously in the comment section. Tonight I want to talk about secrets. It's ok, we can all be anonymous.
Is it true that EVERYBODY has a secret?
Is there anyone here who doesn't have a secret? I'd really like to know; You're a completely open book and there's not ONE thing about you that you wouldn't mind other people knowing about? Please raise your hands up.
And for the rest of us, what's something about you that no one knows, or very few people know? Who's got a dark secret here, or a weird one, or a funny one even? I really don't mean to be invasive but I don't want to be the only one sharing, plus I think hearing other people's secrets is quite fun, don't you think?

Let's Be Random Together! (Open Keypad).

Hey guys, a while back blog reader F said something about creating an Open Keypad post, where you can write whatever you want in the comment section. I thought it was a fun idea!
So who is interested? Comment on anything you feel like, ask me or anyone a question, talk about how your day went, your job, your interests, tell us something about you that we don't know, share a testimony with us, rant about anything you feel like, talk about your crush/boo/spouse/relationship/marriage, challenges you're facing, ANYTHING AT ALL!
I'll only make one request; that we stay civil.

(F it was you who made this suggestion, right? I'm not too sure and I can't even remember the post the comment was made on).
BTW please Ejoeccome out come out, wherever you are!

Scary af! Trish on the ramp. The chica loves the outdoors so much, she was like a kid in a candy store. She and Uyi took this walk twice! More power to them, you can't pay me to do this a second time.

Question of The Day.

TTB readers doesn't this tweet below remind you of something?
That mail that someone sent me a few weeks back.
But why on earth should a man sleep with his son's fiancé? But what am I saying, some men even sleep with their daughters...

Oh well, I'm throwing the question to you. What has happened in your life that you never saw coming, you never hesperred it, you never imagined could happen, you never imagined could happen to you?
It could be good, it could be bad, it could be ugly. Do tell!
And it can be more than one. Let me tell you a few.
-owning a blog -week long dry fast at Prayer City (I never hesperred it).  -staying in an (emotionally) abusive relationship.
The others require anonymity. LOL. Now over to you.
