Theÿ say reading is great. They say reading more helps your write more. So why am I not writing? I've spent the entire day on my sofa, with intermittent strolls from the sofa to the kitchen, and all I've done all day is read. Yet, I still lack the desire, inspiration or strength to write anything.
Yet, being alone provides a lot of time for introspection. Quite frankly this year has been the most interesting year of my life, and i mean it when I say that. It came with loads of surprises guys. I lost "love" and I found love. I lost opportunities and I found opportunities. I lost friendships that I once thought were forever and as I wish them goodbye I open my heart to more valuable partnerships. I lost money and I made money. I have cried a thousand tears, Lord knows. But I have laughed, oh how I laugh these days. And to that one who's made it a priority to make me laugh, I'm thankful to you, I'm thankful for every moment I have with you, no matter how flitting.
Guys I really wish I could be as open about 2015 with you as possible but to be frank, if I did you may pass out from shock and bewilderment. LOL. However, I've noticed that the year has been just as equally bizarre for almost everyone else. And that's why I'm calling for submissions. I'm calling for pieces from you, an introspective look on your year so far in as real, raw and honest a form as possible; the goods, the bads, the ups, downs, surprises, disappointments, the blessings, the losses, the fights, the reconciliations... everything.
I really want this because, well, let's be honest, most people get a kick from peeking into other people's lives, haha. So I think it could be great fun! But more importantly because when you share the story of your personal journey, you have no idea how far reaching the effect could be, you don't know who's drawing inspiration or comfort from your story, knowing that they're not alone.
I'm hoping to get as many submissions as possible so that we can possibly run them from the day I get the first submission till the end of the year, or maybe even beyond. We would call this #My2015flashback.
Submissions can be of any length but the less lengthy the better, for the sake of easy reading. Also they can be posted either with the writer's names or as anonymous. Let's get to it, ok?
Oh, the second thing I want? I think it's time to bring back our Beauty of the Day posts. Lord, I do miss getting those pictures. Where are all the fine sissi's in the house, it's time to flaunt what God and your mama gave you. Who's going to be our first beauty of the day? Leggo ladies!!! Blink I'm expecting your pishurss *wink wink*
