#TheOneHour Halleluyah Challenge!

If you're on Instagram you must have seen the hashtags and posts over the last few days. The 30-day one hour Halleluyah Praise Challenge is a vision of Nathaniel Bassey and through thousands of his followers, this vision is blowing up into something earthshaking.

A few days ago when it started there were about a thousand people joining in online for the one hour praise & worship session, but last night we were about 13,000 people worshipping online between 12am-1am.

In less than 30 minutes over 700,000 people joined in.

The really amazing thing is the number of STUPENDOUS testimonies pouring in by people online who are a part of this Challenge. Just follow @nathanielblow on Instagram and read the hundreds of testimonies and miracles his followers are sharing. I cannot wait to share mine.

I wouldn't forgive myself if I don't share this with you on the blog, especially for those who haven't heard about it. If you've heard about it, it's not too late to join in at all. Today is day 9, meaning we're not even close to going halfway so it's still very early enough to join in. If you're just hearing about it, well now you know!

What you need to do basically is follow @nathanielblow on Instagram, at 12am tune into his life story to be a part of the praise session and be blessed.

Last night the comment section was interesting. I stumbled upon comments from celebrities, a few blog readers, former class mates, my role model in the events industry; Ibidun Ighodalo and even people I've done jobs for. It was amazing to see everyone praising God together. I could feel so much rejoicing in Heaven. 13,000 people around the world praising God together!

I was particularly excited to join this challenge because a couple of weeks back I with a friend of mine went to visit a family friend who's a pastor. She has the gift of seeing and after we prayed she began to talk to us. She told my friend she needed to really pray hard, told her to fast for some days and gave her some spiritual exercises to do. Me on the other hand, she said "Nwando you just need to praise God. Praise Him praise Him praise Him. That is all He wants from you. God has blessed you sooo much but rather thank Him for the things He has done you continue to complain about the things you don't have. And that can sometimes withhold blessings. In the coming days just take your time to praise Him, worship Him, sing songs to Him, just say thank You God, that is all He wants from you. If I tell you I see anything else I'm a liar".

You'd think that that would be easy enough. The next day my friend started her fasts; 6-6. But I suddenly didnt know what it meant to Praise God. Suddenly I couldn't even say thank you or sing a single song. I'd just say at least God knows I'm grateful and move on. The lady called me a week later to ask if I've been praising God and I lied that I had, but immediately admitted that I hadn't. She asked me to give it another shot. I still found it impossible.

So when I heard about this praise challenge I knew I just had to be a part of the movement. And boy, am I glad I am! It's the most refreshing thing I've experienced all year.

Please I enjoin you to partake of this. You're not paying or losing anything, just an hour of sleep perhaps. And this is really one of the most beautiful things you can give to God. Your prayers are demands from Him, your money is already His actually, He does not eat food. He feeds on our praises!

One thing you need to join this is data. I've calculated it to be about 450mb-500mb with my phone, so be sure you have enough data before 12am.

That's it people! Let's hook up at 12am tonight on @nathanielblow 's instagram story.

  2. I was curious abt this and set my alarm for 12am. All I saw was basic praise and worship with ppl vibrating all in the name of dance. Trust Nigerians, wr ever they hear religion & miracles they will full to the brim. Nigerians are deceiving themselves that magic without hard work exist. Lazy bunch! If it isn't praying for money, its contract or visa. Nathaniel just found a way to up his following cos he knows Nigerians can carry religion on their head like gala. Tell them to come out and protest, they won't. For the curious ppl, there is nothing special abt that 12am stuff, all Na packaging. PR stunt.

    1. Hey Anon, I don't know about it being a PR stunt but I must admit that things seem to have gotten away from him last night. It's gone "mainstream" and it like everyone just wanted to hop on the wagon because that's what's trending. Suddenly so many celebs showed up and to prove that they were there kept typing comments that were not exactly related to the content. Also, the way he did last night's "challenge" came off as a joke or some fun thing. The people with him werent helping matters at all, as all I could make out was some sort of tomfoolery. It was noisy and distracting and to be honest, I turned off my phone and did my prayers on my own. Previous nights haven't been like that and I hope it's because yesterday was a Friday night and things would go back to normal.
That said, I don't think many people participate because of laziness. I saw some extremely hardworking, very successful and accompished people in the comment section. Yesterday, I was at a meeting at Ikeja from 1 to 4 pm, immediately headed to VI for a class at Oriental where I was until 11pm, during which I was sending out emails and still working, I stopped to grab food (my first meal yesterday) from The Place, got home at about 11.50pm, immediately changed, grabbed my Bible and joined the #HalleluyahChallenge. I honestly wouldn't consider myself a lazy person as I stay on my grind 7 days a week . Some of us really just want to connect with God and thank Him. Dasall!

ALSO, (sorry for the epistle) some people's seeming fanaticism has nothing to do with money. I read comments of people praying for the fruit of the womb, praying for healing from cancer and other terrible diseases, praying for their marriages. Not everyone you see praying frenetically is praying for money or breakthrough ooo!

Ok bye. One of these nights, if you're a christian that is, feel free to pop in again. It may be better than your last experience 😊

    2. I agree with you Thelma. I've decided to join in the hallelujah challenge...I've venue persuaded my husband to join too.
However, I'm not going to join the forum online, we're going to pray in the privacy of our room. I can't pray in a noisy environment....I need near quiet or serene evironment with beautiful solemn hymns to really pray.
The whole point of the challenge is to praise God and pray to him.
Forget what others are making of it and do things your own way.
      Peace.

      Gift.

    3. Thelma I know you are hardworking, the laziness wasn't for everybody. I just didnt see anything that was done there any different from the Churches you & I attend or are you saying God answers Nathaniel's prayers different or wat? Ppl just like joining trends on IG that's all. I also saw a lot of celebs & their comments which means nothing to me really, they hav their reasons. R u also saying that ppl's prayers are answered just bcos they participate in the hallelujah challenge? Very laughable!! Churches might as well shut down then. Ppl need to stop glorifying nonsense. BTW, what exactly is the 'challenge'?

    4. "R u also saying that ppl's prayers are answered just bcos they participate in the hallelujah challenge?". I wonder how you arrived at that conclusion. I responded to your "Nigerians are lazy" ish by saying that not everyone who you see in that situation is praying for money/visa/contract. That said people's prayers are answered anywhere. Could be #HalleluyahChallenge, church, in bed, at the office, on a boat... Damn, people's prayers are even answered without them asking sometimes. LOL. Of course I totally get your point; Nigerians and religion. But I wouldn't generalize.

As per 'challenge', that's just social media speak and not challenge in the literal sense.

    5. This Halleluyah challenge is for those whose eyes have been spiritually opened to understand the season.God inhabits the praises of his people and something awesome is going on in the atmosphere. If you are a true believer you won't critize what this challenge is all about. The scripture talked about how the wall of Jericho fell down while the children of Israel were singing and praising the Lord.I am convinced in my spirit that this is inspired by the Holy Spirit.Comparing this move with asking people to come out and protest is not the same and can never be the same.If you, anonymous don't believe in God or you're not a Christian then I can let it pass but if you're a true child of God then you really need to retrace your steps and have a relationship with him.The reason we are created is to worship God.We have nothing to offer than praise.Every believer should join this challenge, let's praise and see every wall of Jericho fall in this country. How many protests haven't we done in this country?Has there been any change? Why not praise the most high who has the power to cause the change we desire.

    7. @ Anon 11:18am, the way these things generally work is that you get out of it as much as you expect, so from your post, I am not surprised that all you saw was "basic praise". Moreover, who are you to decide what is basic and what is great praise? You think it is the melody and the beat of the drum that GOD looks at when He accepts praise as a sweet smelling savour?
Regarding "vibrating in the name of praise", if there is one place that people should be free to dance as the Spirit leads, it is in God's presence. Lately, I have been seeing some sentiments similar to yours, alluding to the fact that the church has become a discotheque of sorts. I would direct you to 2 Samuel 6:20-23, and see what became of Michal for viewing David's praise and dance offering with contempt.
      Wisdom is profitable to direct.

  4. I heard about this today. Although it is differentfrom my kind of worship I am really curious about and willing to tune in tonight. Nothing but an hour sleep to lose. Who knows this might actually unlock the things I have been praying for.

  5. First time I read about it I liked it and was moved to try. Praising God is fulfilling apart from blessings it brings. Now reading that some tomfoolery went on from his end is almost annoying.

Turia Pitt Suffered 65% Burns But Loved Conquered All...

Amazing Story Shared by Dr. Ben Carson on Facebook, i thought it is inspiring and i decided to share;

The Australian ex-model Turia Pitt suffered burns to 65 per cent of her body, lost her fingers and thumb on her right hand and spent five months in hospital after she was trapped by a grassfire in a 100 kilometre ultra-marathon in the Kimberley. Her boyfriend decided to quit his job to care for her recovery.
Days ago, in an interview for CNN they asked him:
"Did you at any moment think about leaving her and hiring someone to take care of her and moving on with your life?"

His reply touched the world:

"I married her soul, her character, and she's the only woman that will continue to fulfill my dreams."

This made me very reflective. I just wonder; if the person you love today encounters an incident or accident that transforms who they are physically, it could be amputation, it could be paralysis, it could be severe burns that scald their flesh beyond recognition, w…
