The Weekend

THE WEDDING

Last weekend was a whirlwind of events for me, and that's why I wasn't here a lot. So on Saturday I attended a former classmate's wedding with my friend Idu. Idu and I got into this little argument about being best friends in QC. you see the way I remembered it, I had another bestie(s) then one day Idu tells me I'm her best friend. I was like ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜ณ. This weekend however I was telling Idu that I was meant to go out with Bukky and she asked "which Bukky?", I said "My best friend in QC". She said "Wait Nwando, I thought I was your bestfriend? You said I was your bestfriend!๐Ÿ˜ณ?"

#Awkward!!!

I now explained to her that err, she wasn't but she told me that I'm hers so I had to play the part. Idu got mad and swore that it was the other way around, that I told her she's my bestie so she had to play the part and on and on we argued. Like really argued. I was amazed at how mad she was, I'm like babes chill yo, that was 15 years ago. Another argument ensued. Idu refused to believe that we left school 15 years ago. She said it's not even remotely that long, maybe 5-10. But me I sha remember us graduating from QC in 2002 ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.

Well we got to the wedding which held at the Muson Centre and it was nice to see former classmates. But trust QC girls, they don't disappoint. A few would look you in the eyes but refuse to say hi. Some will just look right through you as if you're glass. Some will say a very icy hi daring you not to approach, but thankfully some were full of love and laughter and we hugged and kissed and did some catching up.

Oh, i was so excited about her bridal store in Lekki phase 1 along Pinnacle filling station (just in case we've got a bride-to-be who happens to be around there and wants to pop in๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‘ฐ๐Ÿ’). So you can check her page out on Instagram @elizabethandlacebridal. They're really lovely and classy, just like Idu, yet affordable ๐Ÿ˜.

THE MABELLO/ABOUT THAT CURVY LIFE EVENT

Idu and I got back home at almost midnight and then I got a message that Latasha Ngwube would like me to attend a curvy fashion day out event the next day at Grey Velvet, hosted by @mabelloclothier and @aboutthatcurvylife so on Sunday after church I headed for Circle Mall and had a very fun afternoon. I was also gifted that pretty maxi dress and I got to meet some really interesting people. Azuka Ogujiuba was one of those people. She was very easy to talk to, we exchanged numbers and I intend to stay in touch.

I spent most of the afternoon with one of my besties, Yoko, who's Latasha's younger sister. And we parted with plans to see next weekend, but we saw sooner than we thought.

THE ARTISANS

Yoko and I got invited to this really nice swanky new lounge called The Artisans on Anifowoshe street of Adeola Odeku Victoria Island where we were till about 1am, almost getting carried away by the live band. You see I'm not a live band kind of girl but something about this band got me moving. Even Elvina Ibru, one of the biggest live band "connoisseurs" in the country was in the house with her clique and they were really impressed, that's how good the band is. Unfortunately Yoko had work in the morning so she needed to leave so that she can keep her job ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚, so I guess I had to leave too,

That was pretty much my weekend. It was awesome meeting new people but the best part for me was spending it with my closest friends, those friends that we had before we had breasts ๐Ÿ˜‚. They are the ones you can trust with almost anything.

I'm really sorry for the poor picture quality. I need a camera, and if you're feeling generous you can buy me one ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰.

How was your weekend guys? I hope your week has started on a good note?

  1. I don't even know. Family is always dope as usual and considering everyone is at home it was kind of fun. As my sis and I got to do a little makeup shopping.

    1. I'm blessed to have all my family members still on earth but reading your comment made me miss the days when we all still lived under one roof and had those days we all spent together at home. It's so easy to take these things for granted ๐Ÿ’”

    2. It's really so easy to take these things for granted. I'm going for my masters in a week's time and while I have been counting the days another part of me still longs for the presence of family. Cos I actually know that during Masters and after I might not have an opportunity like this to be home and just enjoy home.

Turia Pitt Suffered 65% Burns But Loved Conquered All...

Amazing Story Shared by Dr. Ben Carson on Facebook, i thought it is inspiring and i decided to share;

The Australian ex-model Turia Pitt suffered burns to 65 per cent of her body, lost her fingers and thumb on her right hand and spent five months in hospital after she was trapped by a grassfire in a 100 kilometre ultra-marathon in the Kimberley. Her boyfriend decided to quit his job to care for her recovery.
Days ago, in an interview for CNN they asked him:
"Did you at any moment think about leaving her and hiring someone to take care of her and moving on with your life?"

His reply touched the world:

"I married her soul, her character, and she's the only woman that will continue to fulfill my dreams."

This made me very reflective. I just wonder; if the person you love today encounters an incident or accident that transforms who they are physically, it could be amputation, it could be paralysis, it could be severe burns that scald their flesh beyond recognition, w…

Good morning people!
Just checking in to sign the register. Lol. It's been a very busy week and it looks like it might be an even busier weekend. I was hoping to get some writing done when I got to the airport yesterday but I even almost missed my flight. It was hopeless trying to do any work on the plane as it was bumpy af, and this toddler behind me wouldn't stop screaming in piercing shrieks like he was being exorcised.
I got into town pretty late and needed to keep an appointment ASAP. I'm heading out right now and it's going to be a long day, but thought I should drop this first.
Have a splendid day. Im'ma be back soon.

THE ‘NEW’ SIDE CHICK: I WAS HER

A side chick is commonly known as a mistress or a woman that’s romantically involved with a man who is in a committed relationship.  However after doing some reflecting, I realize that’s not the only type of side chick.  I want to discuss “the new side chick”–a woman who decides to stay by a man’s side after he has expressed his lack of relationship intentions with her through his words or actions.  So many women have made this mistake at least once in their lifetime, and unfortunately I’ve done the same thing. I like to think of the new side chick as an appetizer.  You’re there just to satisfy the immediate appetite of the man, but as soon as that mouth-watering entrรฉe comes out to the table, you will get pushed to the side, literally.  Why?  Because that entrรฉe is what he really wanted; he went to the restaurant to order steak, not hot wings.  You were just a placeholder, fling, temporary commitment, or  maybe even just a “good ol time” until what he really wanted was presented to hi…

Shhhhhhh....

I'm in an amebo mood tonight. Don't ask me, I honestly don't know why. Also I'd like to share too but I'd do that anonymously in the comment section. Tonight I want to talk about secrets. It's ok, we can all be anonymous.
Is it true that EVERYBODY has a secret?
Is there anyone here who doesn't have a secret? I'd really like to know; You're a completely open book and there's not ONE thing about you that you wouldn't mind other people knowing about? Please raise your hands up.
And for the rest of us, what's something about you that no one knows, or very few people know? Who's got a dark secret here, or a weird one, or a funny one even? I really don't mean to be invasive but I don't want to be the only one sharing, plus I think hearing other people's secrets is quite fun, don't you think?

Let's Be Random Together! (Open Keypad).

Hey guys, a while back blog reader F said something about creating an Open Keypad post, where you can write whatever you want in the comment section. I thought it was a fun idea!
So who is interested? Comment on anything you feel like, ask me or anyone a question, talk about how your day went, your job, your interests, tell us something about you that we don't know, share a testimony with us, rant about anything you feel like, talk about your crush/boo/spouse/relationship/marriage, challenges you're facing, ANYTHING AT ALL!
I'll only make one request; that we stay civil.

(F it was you who made this suggestion, right? I'm not too sure and I can't even remember the post the comment was made on).
BTW please Ejoeccome out come out, wherever you are!
